introduction:
Although I have come across numerous foreign nationals, however, I can recall only one person who speaks fluent Hindi. Hence, today I would like to take this opportunity and talk about him.
Who this person is?
This person is none other than my bosom friend, Vardaan. We both met at a time when we were at the threshold of unknown worlds that lay ahead of us. Amazingly, we both moved into our new homes, just next to each other, at around the same time. We instantly hit it off and have been inseparable since then.
Where he/she is from?
He is an American citizen born to Indian parents, who migrated to the states in hope of a better future. They wanted Vardaan to learn the native Indian languages and stay connected with his roots, thus they moved back to India after he finished his primary school education.
How he/she learns Hindi?
His parents and most people of our society are Sardars. Hence, they mostly speak in Punjabi. He learned Hindi primarily in school as it is a mandatory subject and needs to be learned by all.
And explain why he can speak Hindi well?
Initially he faced a lot of difficulties as he did not have a very good hold of the alphabets. He used to take extra coaching classes just to learn the basics. Today. I can proudly say that his hard-work, dedication and discipline paid off. Now, he has mastered it and speaks very fluently. I have seen him toiling day and night to adapt to the new environment and cultural practices. It has been a challenge for him, however, he stayed strong and passed with flying colors.
